Eerie ballads and horror stories have always stirred our emotions. How beautiful it is when the creepiness slowly rises from the depths of the piano and sends little shivers down the listener's spine. Both, great poets and the songwriters of the Romantic period, such as Schubert, Schumann, Wolff, and Löwe, let off steam in the genre of black romanticism and created both powerful and very subtle works of fantasy.
The Russian pianist Denis Ivanov and the Luxembourgian singer Jean Bermes have immersed themselves in the irrational and gloomy states of the ego. The death knell sounds eerily from afar, and wisps of billowing fog surround the lonely traveller in an idle three-four time.
